Chief Renal Technologist

The Chief Renal Technologist will have to be able to effectively manage a range of responsibilities, including ensuring that all renal dialysis equipment in any of the haemodialysis treatment areas is fully supported and working appropriately. You will work with a small team and will be expected to lead by example and ensure that the workload is effectively prioritised and completed.

The job role requirements include;

  • HNC Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline with appropriate "on the job" renal technology training supported with evidence and experience.

  • Substantial experience working at Band 6 and/or 7 within a Renal Department

  • Be able to service and repair Braun and Baxter dialysis equipment to the manufacturers standards

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the pressures generated within a busy dialysis environment for both staff and patients and be able to deal with these in a sympathetic and supportive manner.

  • Basic understanding of chemical and microbiological factors associated with renal and water treatment.

  • Be able to use calibration equipment in tight and delicate spaces
