An opportunity has arisen to join and lead our dynamic and developing Adult Diabetes Service for a fixed term currently of 2.5 years to lead on the transition of young people through the service as part of national pilot project.

The Adult Diabetes Service covers both in- and out-patients and provides clinical, support and education services to patients and to other clinical staff across the four hospitals. The service is part of the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM) which, apart from providing clinical care, is a world-class centre for research.

The job role requirements include;

  • Experience in diabetes technology, young people and youth work and be able to undertake outreach work whilst leading the project too

  • A high level of diabetes knowledge and proven service development and leadership skills

  • A highly motivated individual with a confident and professional attitude

  • Committed to delivering evidence-based practice in a multidisciplinary environment

  • Able to work both autonomously and collaboratively, making safe decisions and facilitating the implementation of initiatives to improve diabetes care across the Trust

  • An understanding of the fundamentals of patients' needs with respect to Diabetes and the need to support person centred care
