Don’t forget to register for Insulin Safety Week 2025

Insulin Safety Week returns from May 12 to 18, with a dedicated focus on the safe use of diabetes technology.

Building on the incredible success of last year’s campaign, which saw over 500 healthcare sites take part, registration is easy and by signing up healthcare professionals can access a variety of resources to enhance understanding of diabetes technology and support best practices.

While the campaign’s core objective remains to raise awareness of insulin safety within the healthcare community, this year will continue to highlight the challenges and opportunities presented by technological innovation.

With recent advancements, including the phased rollout of hybrid closed-loop systems following new NICE technology appraisal guidance, the 2025 campaign aims to ensure healthcare professionals – both diabetes specialists and non-specialists – are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to use emerging technologies safely and effectively.

Emily Mayhew, event manager said: “Insulin Safety Week provides an invaluable opportunity for healthcare professionals to come together, strengthen their knowledge of insulin therapy, and embrace the safe use of new diabetes technologies.

“Using the resources to focus on education and collaboration, we can work together to improve patient outcomes and minimise risks.”

Healthcare professionals are encouraged to sign up here to ensure they receive their free campaign materials and can start planning their activities ahead of the week.
